Bit nicer when it's the real deal, but still a drinkable, relatively cheap quality European pilsner, had my first Beck's at a club, it was worth every cent.
Good introduction to euro beer, its average in taste and quality, there are some better but A LOT worse, nicely balanced, easy drinker. Give it a try, good for a BBQ or a 6 pack watching tv.
The best of the locally brewed under license European beers. Of course the imported gear is far superior and quite easy to source at the same price - how does that work???
Great beer ... when in Germany. As an import... buyer beware. Have a good look at the fine print when buying local. I've had some foxy imported stubbies so there's no guarantee. Tastes better at the brewery in Bremen. Sell the wife and kids and get yourself a flight.
Only ever drunk one stubby of this beer it was crap and couldn't understand why my mates liked drinking it.
tast like im drinking stuff that was not made for human consumption
My four stars are for the import - not the locally brewed version. The local is a little bland.
Dan's in Shellharbour often have import cases for $39.95 and that's a bargain pilsner! Lovely hoppy aroma and aftertaste that is light enough to guzzle but has enough going on to sip and enjoy with friends. One of my favourite commercials!
Check out Beer Fest by Broken Lizard and you'll learn it's Germany's fourth best beer!!
Not bad. Wouldnt hae a slab in the fridge but its not bad every now and then.
I use to love Becks, until they started brewing it in Australia. It was a five star beer, but now it tastes very ordinary
Very good german style pilsner, very drinkable with a few interesting characteristics. Can vary in taste a bit depending on where you get it, and whether it is an import or brewed locally. I can't say for certain which is better because one import can taste different to the next.
