Jim Beam White Label seems to me as a benchmark when choosing a low cost spirit to drink (in terms of taste, mix-ability and harshness).
This particular spirit goes well when mixed with Coca-Cola. However, this is not a drink that goes down well straight, as the harshness of it plagues one's ability to savor the flavor. A chaser is always required after drinking a glass of this straight.
There are better bourbons out there for the price, but there are also a lot more that are a lot worse.
For a less harsher and yet more cheaper bourbon, I would recommend Cougar Bourbon.
Also, in my opinion Jim Beam White Label mixed with the right amount of vanilla coke tastes very similar to Jack Daniels and coke. While I understand that Jack Daniels is whiskey, the general consensus is that Jack Daniels is superior over Jim Beam.

try Woodford Reserve, Bakers, Knob Creek, Bulleit or Buffalo Trace where you can find it listen to Atomic mop buy the good stuff!!
Oh and buy the way folks Jack Daniels isn't bourbon, it's Tennesee Whiskey and for those of you who can only "critique" with "ooh yuck" and "blah discusting"......put down your soda pop mixers grow a set and try drinking this stuff straight like it was intended to be enjoyed
Not bad when mixed youself, very similar to Jack Daniels. Good with coke or lemonade.

Jims Beam is a potent, virile and rigid experience. You gotta gulp and slurp it down in shots of hot passion. After Jim has his way you'll be on cloud nine, or is it six, or both.
Again, very s**t bourbon, actually the worst bourbon invented.. better then the pre mixes though I must say, nicer when mixed yourself.. but still wouldnt drink a bottle.. Old Crow i found which isn't on this site is very similar being a sour mash also is owned by Jim Beam has been since 1993.. Old Crow is 10 bucks cheaper, tasting just a tad better to be honest then Jim Beam White & If Jim Beam didn't buy Old Crow then Old Crow would properly be still a good or better bourbon.. but now it's too similar to Jimmy which turns me off it.
